St Neots III 75 Cambourne Exiles 17 SAINTS played some scintillating rugby that had the home spectators glowing on a cold, wintry afternoon. St Neots began the game by putting the visitors under great pressure and it wasn't long before the home side completed a movement to get Phil Fernie over for the opening try. Playing most of the half in the opposition territory, further stern work from the forwards saw tries coming from all parts of the team with Adam Harwood, Martyn Allen, Captain Dave Medlow, Nick Muston and Tommy McCollin crossing the line. The three conversions of the half were kicked by Lewis Hall, while Cambourne did muster a consolation try. Playing against the wind in the second half St Neots came out strong from the start and got an early try through Allen. A small spell that saw a lapse in concentration from the home side saw the visitors come back, scoring two tries and a single conversion. From that point the visitors were frozen out of the game with the home side taking command in all areas of the field. Further tries followed for Allen, with three, Hall, with two, Muston and McCollin. Despite kicking against the increasingly strong wind, Hall managed to secure two further conversions. St Neots III will be home again on Saturday.
