Midlands 2E(S) Westwood 3-36 St Ives ST IVES Bulls charged to a well-deserved win on the back of some sterling defensive work against a big Westwood pack. The home side started the stronger but Ives worked their way into the game and by the break had two tries on the board from Jim Robinson. Robinson broke the deadlock with a converted try after a pass from Jack Blackley, and crushed the life out of the hosts with his second try before the half-time interval. Bulls went further ahead early in the second half when Blackley crossed for a try that he converted himself. The home team registered a penalty soon afterwards, but they were to prove their only points of the day. Tom Wakerley zipped over as Bulls redoubled their efforts and, although the home side held firm for a period, Robinson took the chance to complete his hat-trick and Jamie Noble added a try to add a gloss to an already healthy scoreline.
