Stags suffered a fourth successive reverse in Midlands Division One East as they went down 22-21 at Wellingborough. Damien Whales men had earlier led thanks to tries from Dan Malem and Billy Bates. Malem also kicked three penalties and a conversion before being one of three Stags players to go off injured Nick Vallance and Wayne Bradley were the others. St Ives remain bottom of Midlands Division Three East (South) after being beaten in a basement battle at Rugby St Andrew. The depleted Bulls delivered a battling display as they went down 20-6. Luke Slade kicked them into the lead with a penalty, but a converted try and a penalty put the hosts in the driving seat before the break. Slade successfully guided over another penalty to keep St Ives in contention before a loss of possession gifted St Andrew a try in the corner. Then, as tiredness set in late on, St Ives conceded another try. St Neots were beaten 46-21 at unbeaten table-toppers Oundle in the same division.
