Rugby League: New faces for Roosters

It’s all change at the St Ives rugby league outfit this season, with the club having appointed its first female chairman in Sue Gaunt and also moving their home games to St Ivo Outdoor Sports Centre for the coming campaign.
On the field, a new coaching team of Andy Dean and Paul Ashbridge take over from Ian Hill, who has a new role as director of coaching.
The club is looking to recruit new players for the men’s open age side as well as it’s new U18 squad.
The Roosters warmed up for the start of the season last weekend, taking part in the Midlands 9’s competition.
It was a spirited performance by the young Roosters squad who lost their first game 20–10 against an experienced Nottingham Outlaws side.

They followed up with consecutives wins against Telford 30-18 and Wolverhampton 26–20, respectively.
This moved them into the semi-finals, where injuries affected the performance as they went down 18–6 to the eventual competition winners Chester Gladiators.
