THERE was a small open match on Sunday in preparation for the winter league which starts in two weeks. Garbolino Peterborough’s Dave Rowell caught quality roach to finish just ahead of Stanjay’s Anthony Watling.

BOTH end pegs took the top two places in Sunday’s match on the Narrows. Ray Steels was the winner with 10lb 10oz, with Paul Kilby in second place and George Coles third.
RESULT: 1. Ray Steels 10lb 10oz; 2. Paul Kilby 7lb 3oz; 3. George Coles 3lb 11oz.
In a very successful junior match at Factory Bank on Saturday, Lewis Kilby weighed in 12lb 2oz to win.
RESULT: 1. Lewis Kilby 12lb 2oz; 2. Lewis Martin 5lb 1oz; 3. Ryan Judd 2lb 2 � oz.
SUNDAY’S match was fished at Burtons Bank, with Dick Denson the winner.
RESULT: 1. Dick Denson 6lb 13oz; 2. Tony Ingram 4lb 3oz; 3. Dave Jarrett 3lb 14oz.
ABBOTS RIPTON AS
MAX Rush won Saturday’s junior match, the Pinkie Challenge, with 48 fish. It was his first ever match success after a number of near misses.
RESULT: 1. Max Rush 48 fish; 2. Charlie Rush 28 fish; 3. Anna Gaunt 23 fish.
THE two-day final took place last weekend, with Warren Martin victorious.
The match is decided on overall weight and Warren, the winner of Saturday’s match, was the clear winner, almost 20lb ahead of Sunday’s victor Simon Easey.

SATURDAY’S qualifier was fished on Snake Lake.

DENNIS Holliday won last Tuesday’s Golden Rod match on Honeysuckle Lake.

SUNDAY sees the final round of the King of the Pond.
Steve Webb heads the field by 6lb from Ken Hannan. Stanjay Sports have stepped in after the withdrawal of the original sponsors and the presentation has been moved to the Golden Knight after Sunday’s match.
