ONLY five matches survived as wild weather wreaked havoc in the Huntingdon and District bowls league. In Division One, home clubs Buckden A and Somersham A took 4-3 wins against Huntingdon A and St Ives A respectively. Strangely, both losing sides won the shot count but went down two rinks to one. In Division Three, Buckden B were well beaten by visitors Somersham B who took five points from a 70-48 shot count. The surprise performance of the evening was from Fenstanton, who belied their low league position by visiting Eynesbury B and winning 4-3. The only other game was in Division Four which saw Eaton Socon C washed away at Needingworth B, who recorded a 7-0 win with a 56-40 shot advantage. The next league triples fixtures will be played on Wednesday (today). Hemingfords A take on White Hart A; Eaton Socon A host Needingworth A; Royal Oak face St Neots B and Brampton play Eynesbury A.
