ROUND One of the year's HAJAC Winter League took place on Sunday on March Twenty Foot and March bypass.
Despite fishing well during the week, the area around Chain Bridge was almost devoid of fish with one section totally blank and a single ounce winning the other.
Anglers drawn in the other four sections mostly enjoyed good fishing. The match was won by John Taylor, fishing for Mark One Black, with 14lb 11oz of roach from the bypass, with Stanjay's Mark Pollard second from the peg above the old railway bridge.
Teamwise, host club March AC finished two points ahead of Stanjay Gold and Stanjay Red. Overall, with only seven teams in the league and the weather so unpredictable, all teams are still in the running.
