At the Cambridge Park Run 5k, Dave Connell finished in third place, recording his best-ever time for the course of 17mins 5secs.

In the Thorney 5 Mile, Christina Marshall marked her 17th birthday by taking over half a minute from her previous best time with 37mins 55secs.

Meanwhile, the club’s sprinters sparkled in the final Eastern Young Athletes League meet of the season at Peterborough.

Fifteen-year-old Meredith Ash stormed to easy victories in the Under 17 Women’s 100m and 200m, winning each race by half a second or more.

Her U17 Men’s counterpart, Ryan Palmer, similarly picked up wins in his two sprint races.

In the U17M 800m A race, George Allen ran away from the field to win by almost five seconds.

The successful weekend was rounded off when the Hunts AC Veteran Men’s team found out they have qualified for the Eastern Veterans League Finals at Milton Keynes in September.

? BRJ runner Andy Barber crossed the line in a time of 20mins 45secs at the Peterborough Werrington 5k, finishing 77th. Team-mate Martin Doig clocked 24mins 16secs to take 142nd place.

At the Cambridge Park 5k on Saturday, Simon Moore ducked under the 20-minute mark in 28th with 19mins 59secs.

Three BRJ members ran the Thorney 5 Mile on Sunday, with Lee Brooks top-placed in 16th in a time of 29mins 34secs. Tony Cotton was 168th in 41mins 50secs and Chris Hemming 183rd in 43mins 39secs.

? RAMSEY Road Runner Andrew Brett was the club’s top finisher in 39th place at the Werrington 5k. His time of 19mins 1sec brought him home in front of Michelle Prior (88th in 21mins 20secs), Tony Lack (132nd in 23mins 45secs), Maddy Stokes (152nd in 25mins 38secs), Samantha Prior (178th in 28mins 9secs), Grace Gipson (182nd in 30mins 34secs) and Sandra Butler (183rd in 31mins 36secs).

A flat course at the Thorney Five Mile was balanced by heavy cross winds, but Andrew Brett was once again the top club runner in 25th in 31mins 10secs. Gavin Stokes (51st in 32mins 58secs), Robert Tillott (89th in 35mins 36secs) and Michelle Prior (96th in 35mins 59secs) also made into the top 100. The other finishers were: 118.
