Paxton brushed aside the challenge of Warboys 4-0 to set up a quarter-final tie against St Neots. Barry Clarke scored twice after Mark Davies had given Paxton the lead, before Knowles netted his 161st goal for the club.

Hemingford won 3-2 at Powerleague AFC, while the derby between Sawtry and Brampton saw Sawtry emerge 4-3 winners.

The top-of-the-table clash in the Peterborough Premier League saw home club Pinchbeck edge past Ramsey. Heavily-fancied Pinchbeck were given a run for their money by Ramsey who will be disappointed that they missed out on a point after a Jamie Darlow strike.

In Division 2, Hartford Sun continued their impressive start to the season when they returned from Woodston with three points after a 3-1 win.

In the Kershaw Premier, it was bad news for both Somersham and Eaton Socon. Somersham lost 4-2 at Whittlesford and Eaton’s stumbling start continued with a 3-0 defeat at Fulbourn.

In the Creak Shield, Eaton Reserves were dumped out 2-1 by RHS United and St Ives Rangers and Hunts RGE were beaten by the same score by Gamlingay and Manea respectively.

There was better news for Hemingfords Reserves and Somersham Reserves in the same competition. Hemingford won 5-2 after extra time against Cambourne and Somersham took the tie against March Reserves 5-3.

In BIS 1B, Bluntisham Rangers made it three defeats from three starts when visitors Elsworth won 4-3 to leave Blunty pointless and bottom of the table.
