East Midlands Winter League Open Match

OUNDLE'S River Nene provided the venue for Sunday's open match and with the sections in Race Meadow and Bushy Corner in use, a good day was anticipated.

The fish were closely shoaled up and with the water clear, fishing proved difficult although the sections around Ashton Footbridge were generally more consistent.

Pike were to give many anglers problems throughout the match which was eventually won by Martin Howard ahead of Peterborough's Alice Page and Hotrods' Colin Oakman.
