HUNTS Athletics Club member Christian Roberts claimed gold at the Eastern Counties Indoor Championships, in Chelmsford.
Roberts, 16, produced a technically perfect 60m sprint hurdle performance to take the gold medal in a time of 8.47 seconds - one of the fastest U17 times recorded in the UK this year.
His win came on the back of a recent victory in 60m hurdles at the North of England Indoor Championships, in Sheffield.
Roberts, pictured, has already won the Eastern Counties event twice previously in the U15 age group and was unlucky not to set a championship record in the U17 age group, contending with a limited warm-up because of a mix-up.
Next up for Roberts is a trip to Birmingham's International Indoor Arena to compete in the AAA National Indoor Championships.
Then he will take on 30 of the UK's top sprint hurdlers and is likely to be one of the main medal contenders.
