THREE rowers from the St Neots rowing club have been trying out for inclusion in Great Britain team.

Joanna Fitzsimons, Natalie Bream and Sam Howell all posted respectable times at the trials in Boston and must now wait to see whether they will be invited to attend the GB Squad winter training camps.

Meanwhile, the club was well-represented at the British Indoor Rowing Championships, taking a team of nine competitors and returning with three medals.

Tom Hinsby, in the 60-64 age category, won a gold medal by five seconds in a time of 6:42.6.

In the Junior 15 event Sam Howell amazingly finished in a dead heat with long-term rival James Fox of Peterborough and the pair shared the gold medal position.

The other medal winner for St Neots was Natalie Bream, who returned with a bronze in the Women's Junior 16 event, clipping 10 seconds from her personal best in the process.
