WITH several regulars committed elsewhere this weekend, there was still a field of fifteen anglers present for Saturday's match.

The winner was Ricky Ashwell with 34lb 12oz from peg 24.

Dennis Page was second with 19lb 9oz and then Ricky's dad Steve with 17lb 11oz. The other weights were considerably lower but close together and the series scores being used to decide the seventeen finalists are very close with every fish counting.

The match was won by Charlie Pratt from peg 27 with 38lb 4oz.

Hoskins finished well ahead with 48 points to Stanjay's 57 and Littleport's 61.

TUESDAY'S "Golden Rod" match was won by Dereck Kendrew from Baldock with 28lb 12oz well ahead of two regular winners Chris Young and Dennis Holliday.

THE first of this year's Saturday Open matches took place this weekend and saw a win for Roger Abbott with 26lb 7oz of carp plus two tench caught from peg 6 on the pole.

Dusty Kiddle and Colin Oliver were close behind in second and third places.
