THE Shrewsbury Regatta proved to be a successful one for St Ives Rowing Club over the weekend.

Racing both Saturday (1000m) and Sunday (600m), there were some excellent standout performances over both days.

Sean Bulstrode took on his first regatta experience with vigor, winning his first ever single race on Saturday morning and also made it to the final on Sunday.

He also paired up with Graham Lilley for the IM3 double sculls where they won their first heat on Sunday. Lilley also raced semi-finals against tough competition in the J17 single sculls.

Frances Enticknap was racing bravely with an injury and reached the finals in the women's J15 singles on both days.

Peter Woodford raced a straight final in IM1 singles on Saturday and elite singles on Sunday, and raced to victory in the mixed IM1 double sculls with Rebecca Williams on Sunday.

Williams also reached the final of the women's IM1 singles on Saturday and won the event the following day.

Luke Watson and Stefan Gawin raced in the J14 double sculls, winning both days with a tough race to the line on Sunday.

Storming the field at J14, they also made it an all-St Ives final in the singles on both days, with Gawin coming out victorious in both.
