Hot Huntingdonshire prospect Josh Smith has completed a series of notable firsts in recent days.
The 15 year-old prodigy became the youngest player to ever represent the county at senior level when lining up in a friendly triumph over the Royal Air Force on Thursday.
Kimbolton School pupil Smith made an instant impression in the 69-run success thanks to a top-scoring contribution of 48 with the bat and 3-34 with some impressive spin bowling.
Hunts team manager Kevin Clement said: “Josh has played county cricket at junior level for Hunts since the age of nine.
“He was terrific with bat and ball on Thursday and there is no doubt he can go far in the sport if he keeps his feet on the ground.”
A fine few days for the all-rounder continued when he was named in the London & East Under 15 squad for the annual Bunbury Festival at the end of July.
He is the first player from the Hunts system to receive recognition in this age group and will line up in the representative competition at Malvern College in Worcestershire.

Hunts Cricket Board performance manager Dave Summers said: “Josh has worked extremely hard and shown a real desire and commitment to push for a place in the squad for the Bunbury Festival. We wish him the very best for both this competition and the future.”
And Smith gave another indication of his potential on Saturday when hitting a first half-century at Tucker Gardner League level for club side Waresley. His knock of 52 was amassed from just 63 balls in a Division One defeat at Burwell 2nds.
