ANEURIN Rainbird claimed victory for Huntingdon Boat Club in the novice single sculls event at the Sudbury Regatta earlier this month.
Rainbird, 19, rowed through three rounds of the competition to triumph in the event, having recently progressed from the junior rowing squad.
Rainbird sculled to victory in a boat purchased by the club thanks to a grant from the Huntingdon Freeman's Charity.
Other rowers to win events included 26-year-old Edward Adams, who came first in the senior one single sculls, holding off a challenge from Maidstone Invicta in the final.
Elsewhere, Iain Rickerby and Ben Sutton won the veteran B double sculls, beating old rivals Weybridge Rowing Club in the final.
Other good performances from the Rowing Club came in the senior one coxless pairs, ladies novice four and the mixed open eight.
