Rachel Sweatt produced a stunning performance when storming to five victories over five different distances in a Southern Athletics League fixture last Saturday.

Sweatt was representing Hunts AC’s women in their second league outing of the summer at St Albans when triumphing over everything from 100m to 5,000m.

Her wave of success began in the 800m ‘A’ race where she clocked 2:42.2 before stepping up to 5,000m just over an hour later.

She won by more than a minute when crossing the finish line in 19:15.4 after a front-running effort in her first attempt at the distance.

Eighty minutes after that Sweatt was rubbing shoulders with the sprinters as she clocked her second-best ever time for the 200m – 28.9 – to win the ‘B’ race.

Then, after an hour of recovery time, she was back on track again to run the anchor leg for the triumphant Hunts AC 4-100m relay squad which also featured Diana Pereira, Siobhan Skinner and Aleta Fraylich.

And Sweatt completed her gruelling shift with the third leg for the victorious 4-400m relay outfit along with Amelia Darnell, Skinner and Fraylich.
