ENTRIES are being invited for one of the biggest cross-country schools events in Britain, to be held at Longsands Community College next month.

The event is being organised by Priory Junior School, Longsands and Riverside Runners and will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 28.

More than 50 teams from across the county have already entered and there will be two separate races for boys and girls, from school years 5/6 with each team member running a 1,200 metre leg.

The event will feature some famous guest runners and mascots to lead the way and smaller schools (those with less than 100 juniors) are being encouraged to take part with special prizes for the fastest boys and girls.
