HIGHLY-RATED Peterborough United winger Dominic Green has also joined Saints on loan until the end of the season.

Green, 21, cost Posh around 200,000 from Dagenham & Redbridge in August 2008 and played nearly a dozen games for the London Road outfit in the Championship just last season – scoring against Newcastle United.

He also spent time on loan at Chesterfield in 2009/10, before a short stint at Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Rushden & Diamonds at the start of the current campaign.

But the starlet, who was born in West Ham and began his career in the youth ranks at Upton Park, says he has no qualms about dropping down to the UCL, which is six levels below League One high-flyers Peterborough in the pyramid.

“I’ve been trying to get out on loan for a while and get some games under my belt,” Green said.

“I finished training one day at Peterborough and Barry Fry (Posh director of football) gave me a call and said I could go and get some games at St Neots.

“To be fair, I haven’t thought too much about the level I’m playing at, I just want to enjoy my football.

“I know Junior Kanuda there already - because we’re basically from the same area –and I know the quality of players they’ve got as well.”

And manager Greene wanted to send his warm thanks to the London Road club for allowing the player to move to The Hunts Post Community Stadium.

He said: “We made an approach about his availability and they felt he needs to play some games.

“He’s decided to come and play for us – and it’s a massive coup.

“We’ve got a good working relationship with Peterborough anyway – what with them using our 3G to train on when the bad weather hit – and I’d like to thank them for allowing one of their prized assets to join us for a short period.”
