DERRICK Pope was the man on the spot with four goals for St Ives as they crushed Bedford II 7-0 with an imposing performance.

Saints will have been counting their blessings as Pope's display inspired his side's victory - Joe Brennan, Dave Land and Ben Scarrow were the other goal scorers.

It will be a tougher test for Saints next week when they visit fellow high-fliers Ipswich.

St Ives II were at St Neots and came away with a 2-2 draw in a game that they will feel should have been won. Simon Bollom netted both of the St Ives goals.

A good 2-1 win in a scrappy encounter was the outcome for Saints III when they entertained Boston. David Boyle levelled the scores after the hosts had gone behind and with just five minutes left Kevin Donnelly nicked the winner.

St Ives IV went down to a heavy 7-0 defeat at St Neots, while the V side recorded a handsome 6-0 win in their fixture.

Saints II won a dour affair at Sawtry 1-0 and the III team went down 2-1 at Cambridge City IV.

n ST Neots III were in seventh heaven in their local derby against St Ives IV and dominated throughout the match.

The result was a very comfortable 7-0 rout with the St Neots goals coming from a Kev Sequenza hat-trick and two apiece from Mel Emery and Steve Moore.

Saints ladies III almost threw away the game against Broxbourne V as the match ended 4-4.

Juliana Dickinson gave the Saints the lead and the same player restored the lead after Broxbourne had equalised.

Ali McMurray put St Neots 3-1 ahead early in the second half but slack play enabled the visitors to score three

times in quick succession. Fortunately though, Dickinson was on hand to grab the equalising fourth goal and her own third.

# A CONFIDENT performance from Huntingdon Ladies saw them cruise to a comfortable 4-0 victory against March II.

Two goals ahead at half-time, Hunters strolled home with two goals each for Kath Perkins and Lucy Lumbers capping a fine team performance.
