RECORDS tumbled as swimmers from Huntingdon Piranhas Swimming Club took part in their end of season competition. Forty swimmers aged from nine to 19 took part in the annual 200 metre Individual Medley Club Championship at the Huntingdon Recreation Centre with the majority setting new personal best times. The girls led the way with new records in the under 12, under 14 and under 16 age groups. Taking new record honours on the night were Charlotte Harrison (under 12), Chelsea Prouten (under 14) and under 16s swimmer Tamara Richards. Winning for the boys were James Gibson (under 12), Matthew Lardner (under 14), Liam Evans (under 16) and Tim Berry (open). The event finished off a very good end of season for the Piranhas following a victory for the team in the fourth round of the Junior Fenland League, held at March. An excellent team effort, with mostly first and second place finishes saw the Piranhas finishing 19 points ahead of Ely to claim victory. In a very close contest the Piranhas finished runners up - for the third year running - in the Bussen and Parkin Novice Gala at Mildenhall in June.
