Huntingdon bowler Nicky Brett faces a mouthwatering Just Retirement World Indoor Championships clash against his pairs partner today.

World number one Brett eased into the quarter-finals of the men’s singles with a 9-4, 8-5 triumph against Les Gillett at the Potters Resort, Hopton-on-Sea last night.

Now he must negotiate the challenge posed by former City of Ely clubmate and fellow England international Harlow as he bids to land the world title a whopping £55,000 payday.

Second seed Brett has never made it past the semi-final stage of the game’s flagship tournament in six previous attempts.

Brett and Harlow were knocked out of the men’s pairs at the quarter-final stage by eventual winners Darren Burnett and Stewart Anderson in a tie-break.
