OLYMPIC athlete Christian Malcolm last week visited Abbey College to help Year 7 students raise over £250 for PE department projects.

The young athletes took part in a mass work-out before listening to Malcolm's advice on how to reach the top.

The visit was organized by Neil Suckling, the school's acting director of learning for PE, in association with Team SuperSchools, a scheme which aims to visit 2012 schools by the opening of the London 2012 games, raising funds for schools and talented athletes.

Malcolm has won silver medals in the 200m at the World and Commonwealth Championships, and European Championship gold in the 4x100m relay.

Mr Suckling said: "Team Superschools organised and ran the event with great efficiency and Christian Malcolm provided inspiration to the students and staff alike. It was great to see so many young people being active and enjoying themselves.
