The Flaming June Half-Marathon certainly lived up to its name yesterday – and three Riverside Runners members produced hot performances in the race held at Histon.
Neil Shorten finished fifth in a time of 1:21.19 while Jo O’Regan was the first female to cross the line when taking ninth place overall in 1:24.33.
Piers Serjeant also impressed in 13th position (1:27.04) in an event staged over a multi-terrain course.
Three Huntingdon BRJ Run & Tri members also took part with Mel Wiffin finishing in 1:46.10 and husband, Dean, completing in 1:55.27. Rosalind Dare clocked 2:11.08 in her first attempt at the distance.
Richard Davies was third in the MV40-49 age group in the accompanying quarter-marathon. He finished in 50.18 with Claire Few crossing the line in 1:02.36.
