St Neots Town will wave farewell to striking star Tom Meechan again this Saturday.
The frontman has been recalled by National League South club Hungerford after spending two months on loan with Saints.
Meechan has scored six goals in 13 appearances to help Matt Clements’ climb the Southern League Premier Division standings following a difficult start to the campaign.
He has one more chance to add to that tally when Saints entertain Basingstoke Town at the Premier Plus Stadium, 3pm.
“Hungerford have injuries and have decided to take Tom back as they are fully entitled to do,” said Clements, who is already working on potential replacements.
“Tom has been terrific during his two months with us. He became available at a perfect time and the loan spell has been hugely beneficial to both parties.
“We needed goals, Tom needed games and everything worked out really well. He has contributed massively to the upturn in our season while having a journey of more than 150 miles just to get to St Neots. He has even missed days off work to help this club.

“The door at St Neots Town will always be open for ‘Meech’ and I know our supporters will give him the sort of ovation he deserves at the end of the game on Saturday. I’m sure we would all love it if he can sign off with another goal.
“A player of Tom’s calibre would be a huge loss to any team at our level, but I’m sure other guys will continue to score goals.
“We’re also working on bringing in another striker. We have a couple of targets in mind and I’m confident we can get one of them signed and sealed by early next week at the latest.”
The visit of Basingstoke is the first of three successive Premier Division games for 11th placed Saints against teams just below them in the Premier Division table.
They then go to Royston Town, who are currently level with Saints and possess games in hand, on Tuesday before visiting Bishop’s Stortford next Saturday (December 2).
Midfielder Kyran Wiltshire will be available again for the trip to Royston after serving a four-match suspension and Clements also hopes to have a new striker on board by then.
