St Neots Town have announced a formal link-up with League One club Peterborough United.

The partnership, which comes into effect next season, will see Posh stage Under 23 fixtures at the Premier Plus Stadium and also provide coaching expertise for Saints’ elite football scholarship programme.

St Neots director of football Iain Parr said: “This is an excellent opportunity for both clubs to help talented footballers achieve their goals on the football pitch whilst gaining valuable life skills and qualifications.”

Those sentiments were echoed by Posh academy manager Nick Sheppard. He said: “We’re delighted to be able to work closely with St Neots Town from the 2018/19 season.

“The elite football scholarship is one of the best set-ups outside the EFL academies and our coaches working on the programme will enable us to have the best opportunities to find any players who are late developers.”
