It’s all change at Huntingdon Town.

The United Counties League club have announced the arrival of a new managerial duo following relegation from the Premier Division.

Town sit bottom of the standings for the second successive season with their drop into Division One already confirmed.

Chairman Doug McIlwain does not intend to reveal the identities of his new bosses until the end of the campaign as they’re still at another club.

Current manager Bob Warby and his assistant Mark Forrest, who have both been at Huntingdon for almost 14 months, are to stay on in new positions.

Warby will now become director of football while Forrest will have a head of player development post.

A club statement confirms: “Doug McIlwain has appointed a joint-management team who fit the profile, and share the aspirations and ambitions, of the club.

“It is a very exciting step forwards in the redevelopment of a club which has suffered in recent times.”

Huntingdon have found the going particularly tough in the past two-and-a-half seasons following the departure of Paul Hunt as chairman. The club are understood to have operated with either no, or minimal, playing budget since then.

They suffered a 32nd defeat in 38 league games this season when going down 1-0 to Desborough Town at Jubilee Park on Wednesday night.

Huntingdon recently appointed Gavin Stevenson to oversee a new youth development programme which will include a new Under 18 side.

The club are also in the process of launching a ladies’ side.
