Huntingdon have sacked one of their joint managers.

Ryan Hunnings has been dismissed by the United Counties League Division One club today.

Hunnings took over at Jubilee Park at the end of last season, along with Jimmy Brattan, following the club’s relegation from the Premier Division.

Brattan will now remain in sole charge of a Town outfit who have won their last two games to climb into the top half of the Division One table.

Chairman Doug McIlwain said: “I was never convinced that anyone could play for two bosses. It just wasn’t working for me.

“They were joint managers, but one was saying one thing and one was saying another.

“The boys were getting mixed messages and it was time to end that and have one manager.

“I need one person at the top that everyone can look at.”

Hunnings has quickly returned to football after being confirmed as assistant manager at another Division One side, Oakham United, tonight.
