A St Ives team is celebrating an historic double success.
The Icons club, which has been going for more than 20 years, entered an Under 14 side into the Cambridge & District Junior League for the first time.
And it proved to be a smart move as the team roared to Division B title glory in the winter season.
That triumph was soon followed by an end-of-season tournament success as the Icons girls went undefeated to capture more silverware.
The team is coached by Michelle Allpress along with Lisa Coulson, who said: “We are so proud of the girls to win the title in their first season together.”
Icons also boast an Under 16 team and hope to add an Under 12 outfit later this year, in addition to adult sides.
The club train at One Leisure Ourdoor Centre on Mondays – 7pm to 8pm for juniors and 8pm to 9pm for seniors.
