Blackstones 0-6 St Neots Town

ST NEOTS Town leapfrogged King’s Lynn and regained the summit of the UCL Premier Division with a thumping of Blackstones on Wednesday evening.

The same opponents had caused problems less than two weeks ago, as Saints scrambled a last-minute equaliser in a 3-3 draw, but there were no such troubles in the return fixture at Lincoln Road.

Two goals from Stefan Moore and Shane Tolley’s 40th of a prolific campaign helped Saints re-establish a one-point advantage over chasing King’s Lynn Town.

Moore got Neots off the mark on 29 minutes, lashing home from Dan Jacob’s cross. He got his second on 42 minutes, feeding off Lewis Webb’s cross this time, and a minute later Lewis Hilliard’s corner gave Shane Tolley the chance to slot home his landmark strike.

Luke McShane had to make a good stop to prevent Addie Staffieri replying for Stones, but Neots went in 3-0 up at the break.

They made it four on 49 minutes, as Moore won the ball and fed Jacob, who slipped the ball past Stones keeper Duggan.

Stones again went close through Danny Barker and Staffieri, but they could not make their chances count and Saints buried the game with two late goals.

Former Stones winger Kieran Davies lobbed the fifth from Tolley’s flick after 85 minutes and Hilliard’s 20-yarder completed the scoring a minute later.

St Neots: McShane, Hyem, Davis, Webb, Christon, D Moore (Gent), Hilliard, Kanuda (Montique), S Moore (Davies), Tolley, Jacob.
