HUNTS COUNTY BOARD U11 LEAGUE SOUTH
NEEDINGWORTH U.11 288-4 GODMANCHESTER U.11 278-5
NEEDINGWORTH Under-11s produced a fine team performance to beat Godmanchester by 10 runs on Friday evening.
Needingworth won the toss and elected to bat.
Thomas Biddle and Caleb Sirot-Smith set the standard for the rest of the innings, compiling 26 in their five overs, with some excellent running between the wickets. All the subsequent pairs scored well with Joe Morris the outstanding batter, playing some lovely shots in his 25 run partnership with Max Brindley.
A target of 288 was always going to be a tough one for Godmanchester, but tight bowling and athletic fielding by Needingworth ensured that they were always behind the required rate. Innes Christisson and Molly Carter both bowled particularly effective spells.
