Oil leak ends racer Jon’s Croft hopes

TROUBLE comes in threes and a nightmare start to the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship got even worse for Graham's Jon Railton in the third round at Croft over the weekend.

After his horror crash at Oulton Park a fortnight ago - having also bombed out at Brands Hatch in round one - the 20-year-old was always going to be up against it to get the bike prepared in time.

As a result of massive efforts made by Inmoto to obtain the parts, the bike was completed on Thursday morning in time to head off to the circuit for first practice on Friday but, unfortunately, that left no time for testing.

As the weekend unfolded, events transpired against the team as problems arose which affected each practice and qualifying session.

Even though Railton managed to qualify for the race, having only completed three laps, he was unable compete because of an oil leak that could not be cured.

Time will now need to be set aside to ensure the bike is complete and ready to go before Railton can compete at the next race which is at Thruxton in two weeks time.
