JONATHON Railton will be racing in two competitions this season after his 13th place finish in the Superstock 1000 Championship last time out.

The 22-year-old motorcycle racer was at Brands Hatch recently and has successfully tested both the Boast Plumbing 848 Ducati he will be racing in the Ducati 848 Challenge and the Team WD40 Kawasaki ZX10r he will be racing in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000.

Both competitions are support classes to the British Superbike Championship so Railton will be doubling up at meetings this year.

"I am really looking forward to the 2013 season and the challenge of competing in two British championships," said the Grafham-based rider.

"To be associated with a brand such as WD40 is a great opportunity for me and to gain the exposure needed to progress in the sport.

"I have no doubt that the machinery at my disposal will be prepared to the highest standards and will give me the best chance to battle for top honours in both championships.

"The Team WD40 backed Kawasaki ZX-10R is the same specification as I rode last season so I am familiar with the bikes characteristics from the start which will only help me to be as competitive as possible for the first round at Brands Hatch in April.

"The Boast Plumbing AOR backed Ducati 848 is new to me for this season therefore I am keen to get to get to grips with it before round one.

"Initial tests have gone well and I really enjoy riding the bike, which has very different characteristics to the Kawasaki."

Testing was carried out at Brands Hatch in very tricky cold and wet conditions but Railton showed good pace on both machines. He is hoping to test further in the dry before the first round of over the April 5-7 weekend at Brands Hatch.
