Sam Tomlinson has made a plea for sponsorship – as he bids to claim silverware in his debut Lotus Elise Trophy season.

The Papworth racer is leading the way in the Rookie Championship, but he does not currently have the finances to compete in the final round of the series at Norfolk circuit Snetterton on October 14.

Tomlinson took part in the penultimate round at Brands Hatch last weekend. He finished sixth in the opening race before crashing out of the second contest after being hit by rival driver Steve Summers – a man he leads by seven points in the Rookie Championship standings.

Tomlinson said: “I don’t currently have the finances to race at Snetterton and I’m actively looking for a sponsor for the final round.

“I have a great chance of winning the Rookie Championship and any support would be hugely appreciated.”
