OUNDLE provided the weekend opposition for Stags juniors, as the U7s led the way with three wins from three.

The leading try-scorer on the day was Elliot Mortimer with seven, and Ashley Quince bagged four. Ben Lemon squeezed in for two with Ben Halam, Oli Ford, Toby Stonestreet and Ben Mackenzie getting in on the act.

The U8s fielded two teams against Oundle, with the Stags II taking a win, a loss and a draw in the four-team contest and Stags I picking up a win and two defeats.

At U11 there were two well-contested games, with Oundle shading the first 19-14 and the second 17-14.

George Murkett and Luke Toates picked up a try and conversion apiece in the first match. In game two all the Stags points came in the second half with Will Greatorex and Joe Darer crossing for converted tries.

Stags U12s grafted hard in their first game and Sam Durnan managed the only try of a close first half. The match remained tight, until Durnan found space for a second try in the second period. Oundle snatched a consolation as Stags clung on for the win.

In the second, Durnan again gave Stags an early lead. Oundle hit back immediately and took the lead, with lots of open play it was no surprise when Durnan got Stags back on terms.

After the restart, Oundle scored once more, only for Durnan to add two to his tally to win it for Stags.
