ST IVES Swimming Club collected 44 medals at an open meet in Cambridge.

The 16 Ives swimmers competed against a packed field comprised of 29 other clubs from 12 counties.

Oliver Fitt, who has been in excellent form all season, won the 50m backstroke in the 11-12 age group, while Giovanni Di Siena took gold in the 50m fly and a silver in the 200m individual medley.

Ellie Watson qualified for five finals in the nine-to-10-year-old category, finishing second in the 200m freestyle and 100m breaststroke and third in the 100m free and 50m breaststroke.

Other second-place finishes went to Caitlin Roberts in the age 13-14 50m and 100m breakstroke, Ellie Roberts in the age 11-12 100m breaststroke, Oliver Cook in the age 13-14 100m fly, and Becky Hime in the age 15 and over 50m breaststroke.

Harry Bygraves came third in the 15 and over 50m backstroke and Hanna Jaszkiewicz came third in the 100m breaststroke for nine-to-10-year-olds.
