Three Huntingdon & St Ives Tang Soo Do talents racked up gold medal hat-tricks on the international stage.

Shazan Amin and Sarah Chapman enjoyed stunning success at the European Championships in Holland, where they dominated in weapons, forms and sparring categories to be crowned as Black Belt 3rd Dan grand champions.

And clubmate Katie Alexander completed a treble of her own in Schidam to capture the grand champion accolade at Black Belt 2nd Dan Female level.

There were also two gold medals apiece for Bradley Dearnley, Jack James and Riley Tauber who starred in their respective weapons and forms events. James and Tauber also won bronze medals in sparring.

Other European Championships medal-winners from the local club were Peter Dudgeon (gold in weapons, bronze in forms), Zoe Halliday (silver in weapons), Gary Morton (bronze in weapons, forms and sparring), Samantha Unwin (bronze in forms and sparring), Louise Morton (gold in weapons, bronze in forms), Akvilina Kerbedyte (gold in sparring, bronze in forms), Natalie Walker (bronze in sparring), Betony Bennett (silver in sparring), David Marsh (bronze in weapons and forms), Callum Carr (bronze in weapons and forms), Morgan Kimber (bronze in forms), Jamie King (silver in sparring, bronze in forms), Dylan Nicholson-Reid (gold in weapons, bronze in forms), Justinas Bernotas (bronze in forms), Martha Bennett (bronze in weapons, forms and sparring), Rosie Alexander (silver in sparring), Jakob Dudgeon (bronze in weapons and forms), Madison Kimber (silver in sparring).

Club instructor Master Dawn Khan made history when earning her 5th Dan Master Belt, which makes her the highest-ranked female competitor in Europe. Aisha Khan was presented with her Master Belt.

Many of the Huntingdon & St Ives Tang Soo Do members are now set to represent Great Britain at the World Chmpionships next year in America.

The club stage classes at One Leisure in Huntingdon on Tuesdays and Thursdays (7pm to 9pm) and at One Leisure in St Ives on Fridays (7.30pm to 9pm) and Sundays (11.30am to 1.30pm).

They also have a ‘Tiny Tigers’ club on Mondays (4pm to 5pm) while a ladies only class on Tuesdays (11am to 12.45pm) both at the Huntingdon venue.
