Martial Arts: Brown wins British title
THERE’S now a new British champion at the BCKA kickboxing club in Ramsey after Courtney Brown took the honours at the WKC All Britain Championships held in Manchester over the weekend.
THERE’S now a new British champion at the BCKA kickboxing club in Ramsey after Courtney Brown took the honours at the WKC All Britain Championships held in Manchester over the weekend.
Brown became All Britain champion in the boys’ over 55kg section, as well as collecting silver in the men’s under 65kg.
Meanwhile club mate Grant Brown got silver in the men’s under 70kg section, while Jack Bristowe took the bronze medal in the boys’ under 55kg continuous section.
The competition attracted fighters from all over the UK, specialising in kung fu, karate, freestyle karate and kickboxing.
Delighted club instructor Andy Whitwell said: “This caps some great performances.
“We now go to the Peterborough Championship Series on Sunday as reigning Schools Grand Champions - we intend to keep our crown.”
