A FINE hat-trick from recent recruit Paul De Luca eased Town into the semi-finals of the Senior Cup.

De Luca used his head to open the scoring after 28 minutes and tapped in six minutes later to send Town into the break with a two-goal advantage.

The front man completed his hat-trick on the hour mark before James Clark polished off the scoring in the 65th minute as Saints coasted through.

St Ives will face Yaxley in the cup semi-finals with AFC Fletton and Hampton Athletic contesting the other semi.

Joint manager Jez Hall said: "Even though we had a few players missing we played with the right attitude to avoid what could have been a banana skin. We are still in three cup competitions but we are looking to pick up some more league points to better last season's finish."

* St Ives host Northampton Spencer in a league fixture on Saturday. Potton United are the visitors for next Tuesday's (13) Hinchingbrooke Cup tie.
