STAR gymnast Louis Smith rounded off his year with an excellent performance at the World Cup Finals in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Smith, 17, claimed fifth position on the pommel horse in the event, which showcases the best eight apparatus specialists from across the world.
Smith, who trains at Huntingdon Olympic Gym Club, was the youngest in the field by three clear years, and can be proud of his performance as he recorded a personal best score of 15.775 among the world class field.
The standard of the competition was extremely high with every gymnast recording 'clean' routines. Claiming gold was Chinese gymnast Xiao, with Kristian Berki of Hungary, and fellow Chinese gymnast Teng Haibin completing the medals.
Paul Hall, head coach at HOGC was delighted with Louis's performance, and said: "This is a great end to a fabulous year, not only for Louis but for HOGC as a whole.
