ST NEOTS Town's dismal away record continued as they lost their third consecutive game, this time at league leaders Long Buckby.
Saints enjoyed good spells in the first half but failed to hit the target and Lee Crockett in the visiting goal was busier, saving from Mark Hewitt and Russ Dunkley. A Chris Davies lob after 45 minutes was enough the give Buckby their fifth successive win and condemn St Neots to their 11th away defeat of the season.
Saints battled throughout the second half for an equaliser to no avail, and their day got even worse when Kevin McElroy was dismissed late on.
St Neots now languish 17th in the table with 10 games remaining. They next play at Newport Pagnell Town tomorrow (Tuesday) before travelling to Desborough Town on Saturday.
