Sawtry star Lauren Steadman bids to defend her ETU European Paratriathlon Championships crown later this week.
Steadman competes in the PT 4 category in Lisbon, Portugal on Friday where she must negotiate a 750m swim, 20km cycle and a 5km run.
It is the latest big event on the road to Rio where Steadman will bid for Paralympics glory in September.
Steadman is already assured of her place in Brazil, but that’s not the case for fellow local competitor Clare Cunningham.
That means the European Championships take on extra significance for the Papworth Everard-based star who needs to pile up ranking points to boost her hopes of Paralympics selection.
