MUMS, daughters and female supporters got to try their hand at cricket during Warboys Feast Week and played an inaugural match at Warboys Cricket Club.

The feast week saw Warboys CC members of all ages play four matches, including one against the club's sponsors, but it was the first women's match to be seen at the club that really turned heads.

The 20-over contest pitted two teams, pictured, both in club colours, against each other. In a closely-fought contest, it was the side led by Diane Humphrey that came out on top.

Warboys club chairman, Martin Croucher, said:

"It was a fantastic evening of cricket and is something we have wanted to do for some time.

"We wanted to recognise not only the efforts of our female counterparts but also to give players the opportunity to play a game and encourage more female players to get involved.
