Darren Marjoram’s team thumped Cambridge University Women 15-0 in a Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership rout.

Katherine Speed led the scoring spree with a four-goal haul while Georgia Stancombe completed a first-half hat-trick after opening the scoring in the second minute.

Amy Seymour-Shove and Katie Stancombe also hit trebles with substitutes Sasha Smith and Megan Stow getting in on the goalscoring act.

“This was by far the best display the ladies have ever produced,” said manager Marjoram. “Every single player performed to an exceptional level.

“I can’t praise the players enough for their work rate and determination, as well as their quality. I don’t think anyone will want to play us in this form!”

Second-placed St Ives face the same team again this Sunday in a return clash.

The club’s Development team made it a Sunday double as they continued a perfect start to their debut Championship South season.

Lisa Trigg’s side recorded a third successive victory when beating Cambridge Rangers 3-0.

All the goals arrived in the second half courtesy of Connie Liddiard, Emilee Steel and captain Georgia Rebane, who had earlier been denied by the woodwork.
