The 60-year-old, from Kimbolton, had a heart transplant at Papworth Hospital in 2002 and once again illustrated how invaluable and life changing transplants can be after she struck gold in archery, badminton, table tennis and lawn tennis. It was very special to be part of such an amazing team once again, she said. Although we didnt retain the Tesco Cup for the Best Heart and Lung Team at the games, Papworths 12 athletes emerged with 14 gold, nine silver and 13 bronze medals. It was a great effort by everyone. At the Gala Dinner I was also presented with the trophy for being Best Female Athlete in the Super Veteran category. She added: I was given the gift of life and I will be eternally grateful for that. Taking part in the games is not only something I do because I love sport but it is also a way of honouring my donor and showing that I am living life to the full.
