DANIEL Keatings continued his preparations for the forthcoming World Championships by taking a bronze medal in the Champions Trophy Tournament in Berlin.

The Huntingdon Olympics gymnast was invited to take part in the first of the four match series and didn't disappoint, leading the field into the final round.

However, an error on parallel bars dropped him to third behind local hero Fabian Hambuchen and Russia's Mazim Deviatovsky.

Keatings now moves into the final training stages for the London Worlds, along with clubmates Louis Smith and Marissa King, all selected to represent GB at the O2 Arena next month.

Keatings' clubmate Clare Stock finish second overall in the Senior Ladies section at the English Championships with a score of 49.2. She also showed the highest scoring routine of the day on asymmetric bars, winning the Amanda Kirby Trophy and selection to the England team for the Leverkusen Cup International next month.
