Somersham Town beat March III by 7 wickets MARCH won the toss and got their innings off to a variable start. Opener D Furnell's 36 gave March a boost but D Hinson lost his wicket for two. W Markillie's 18 was a help but he was bowled by F Parker before C Jonker went for four. After S Lindsey's 14 and G Short's 18, the next highest contribution was one as March finished their 40 overs on 124 for 9. S Boon's three for 24 from six overs was the highlight of the Somersham bowling attack, while N Fenton was particularly economical with two for 10 from five. S Luery opened the Somersham innings, making 14 before being bowled by N Alger. J Turner's 39 moved the Somersham innings along steadily but a duck from M Davis and one from S Cornwell slowed things considerably. The arrival of F Parker at the crease signalled the end for March, however, as he went on to make an unbeaten 50 to make the total with seven wickets to spare. Short's one for 18 from 10 overs with one maiden was the highlight of a lacklustre March bowling attack.
