Teamwise Sensas Mark One put in another strong performance to win by some margin from MAP Peterborough.

The Browning Stanjay team maintained their difficult challenge to get back into the top two places with a third on the day.

Individually the match was won by Peterborough's John Means with 19lb 13oz of mainly skimmers. The other impressive top weights were spread along the stretch with seven of the 10 sections being won with weights over 10lbs.

The main river fished well with only five ounces separating the top three anglers. Winner was Browning Stanjay's Jon Hazelden with 10lb 11oz which included a few bonus perch from peg 17.

Brampton's Winter Pairs match on Jay Lake at Pidley on Sunday was a tense and close affair. The result was decided on a weight countback which saw Saunders and Oliver secure a narrow victory.

Sunday's club match was fished at Burtons Bank where Dick Denson caught four tench for 14lb with Ken Matthews second including three tench in his 10lb 15oz.

Saturday's Tobacco Box match fished at Wilden Reservoir on Saturday was won by Jean-Paul Thomas with 15lb 8oz.

St Ives AS

With the river flowing very hard throughout Sunday's match despite no rain for some time catching was extremely difficult. Only match secretary Chris Geeson managed to catch weighing 6lb 8oz including a 5lb tench.

Lawn Farm

In the open match on Sunday October 28, Nigel Fawkes was the winner with 98lb 12oz, an excellent weight for this time of year.

RESULT: 1 Nigel Fawkes 98lb 12oz; 2 Steve Ashwell 68lb 6oz; 3 John Logan 61lb 13oz.

The ' golden rod ' open match fished on October 30 on Willow Lake was won by Tony Green from Bassingbourn with 26lb 4oz of chub. Andy Pollard and Bob Walker both from Luton took the minor places.

Grahams Pond

Terry Kelly has now won seven consecutive Saturday open matches.

Jeffries Cup

The Jeffries Cup, fished annually on the Old Nene at March is a charity match fished by teams from local and national emergency and armed services. Last week's match saw 14 teams of four anglers who enjoyed a good days fishing. Local angler Graham Welton was the winner with 15lb 11oz.

Individual Result: 1 Graham Welton, Fox Match RAF 15lb 11oz; 2 Andy Johnstone, Fox Match RAF 15lb 6oz; 3 Alex Bates, Army Odds 14lb 5oz.

ACA Pike Qualifier

This match was fished at Burtons Bank, Benwick with the 15 anglers taking part.

Paul Welcher was the winner with four pike including the 10lb 4oz biggest fish of the day for a total weight of 29lb 1oz.
