The rapid rise of First Strokes Godmanchester – a club formed only eight years ago - has continued thanks to three swimmers qualifying for the recent East Region Championships.
Jessica Spavins competed in all three breaststroke races in the 13yrs age group and was the highest-placed competitor from the Cambridgeshire area in two of them – ninth in the 100m event and 12th over 50m.
Clubmate Chloe Butler produced a personal-best performance in the 50m freestyle at 14yrs level.
Jodie Elliott also qualified for the 50m butterfly race in the 12yrs age group but a broken collarbone prevented her from taking part.
