JEZ Hall doesn’t believe King’s Lynn have enough in their locker to stop St Neots winning the UCL Premier Division title this season.

St Ives’ manager Hall was speaking after getting a close look at the team who are likely to be Saints’ nearest challengers for top spot.

Speaking after this side’s 4-1 reverse against King’s Lynn on Saturday, Hall said: “I’m still of the opinion that St Neots will win it ahead of them. Newport Pagnell third, Long Buckby fourth and anyone else after that.”

Ives were left feeling a bit hard done by at King’s Lynn, who took the lead through Jack Defty 15 minutes in, before Ricky Dear’s first time shot levelled things up 11 minutes later.

That was the way it stayed until the 70th minute before three King’s Lynn goals within the space of seven minutes killed the contest.

Luke Thurlbourne made it two, before Kieran Doherty and Martin McNeil also got themselves on the scoresheet.

Hall continued: “They’ve got good players, don’t get me wrong, but the final score flattered them a little bit.

“There wasn’t a lot in it and we had two chances - a two versus one situation and a free header from four or five yards out - which we weren’t able to take advantage of before they got their second.

“Although they had more of the ball than us, King’s Lynn are nothing special and their crowd were getting a bit restless before they scored their second goal - which when it came completely deflated us.”

St Ives, who were due to visit Newport Pagnell Town last night, host Deeping Rangers on Saturday.
